Company Update Topics & Company Messages
UPDATE, March 16, 2009:
Attention all company employees in Get Satisfaction! You can now use our handy "Company Update" topic type to make announcements from your company to your customer community here.
These topics will appear in the yellow box at the top of all of your company's support community pages in Get Satisfaction.
If you prefer to have one message that remains constant in this space, you can use our new "Message to your Community" (or Company Message) feature. This is set in the Company Details page of your Admin section which is only accessible by registered employees with Admin status.
Once this is set, it will override any Company Update topics. Those will still show up in the topic stream as a Company Update but will not be featured in this spotlighted space at the top. You can use this Company Message feature to post any message you like. For example, point them to your official support section.
And please note: Due do high demand, the green topic type that was formerly "Discussion" is now "Give praise" to better facilitate your customers telling you how much they love you. :)

Inappropriate?Cool, grats on the updates!
Nice to see the all pervasiveness of Skitch too. ;-)
I’m thankful
-
Thanks, Stefan.
We love the Skitch here at GS! :) -
Inappropriate?Wonderful! The PCA is excited that all of our member coaches can now ask questions and get helpful customer service from staff and from other members! Our association is full of different talents and specialties so take advantage of this fabulous "get satisfaction" customer services application and get the answers you need. Don't forget to share your experience with the PCA and with this customer service application. Your patience in the beginning is much appreciated as we all become acquainted with the PCA's various services.
I’m excited!

Inappropriate?Hi - Am I correct in thinking that you can only add a Company Update in the 'premium version'?
I’m thankful
-
Nope! Company updates are available to any verified company employee. -
Inappropriate?I'm not seeing the update button... I see the other 4 options along the top of the update box on my company's page, but no "update". Has it been moved?
-
Inappropriate? Are you talking about the tabs on the company home page, or on a new-topic creation page?
-
I know I've seen that page before, but I can't seem to find it now. Where is it again? -
Hi Buster, You should see it when you start a topic in any company area for which you are an Official Rep or Admin. -
Okay, I see it now. I was missing the "start a topic" button in the nav... thanks! -
No worries. :) -
we do plan to make this more obvious in the (relatively) near future. -
Inappropriate? We'll be adding a link to add a company update with the other admin links.

This should go out in our next deploy.
I’m happy
-
You rock, dood. -
Inappropriate?I'd like to use the company update section to feature a less-recent company update thread instead of just a message.
I’m sad
-
Inappropriate?To update this topic...
The treatment of company updates has changed. They and the Message to your Community are separate. The Message to your Community shows up in the top of the right column. The latest company update shows up a bit further down in the right column, along with a link to see all company updates.
