I'll need to do some digging. In the meantime, you may want to try the script method, at least to see if that solves the problem. I'm curious if this is a result if the method call or something else.

I believe that the problem is that you're not specifying your domain name in with your Fastpass call. The Fastpass library doesn't know your domain by default, and since cookies are domain specific the Fastpass authentication fails. The following function will allow you to set that domain:

FastPass.setDomain("help.socialstrata.com");

If you open up FastPass.java you can see where the domain is set.

This is not clear in our documentation, which I'm going to remedy right away. Apologies for the confusion.

Please let me know one way or the other if this resolves it for you.

That Header area in the customization page does not replace everything in the "header" div, it adds your customization above a modifed version of the sub_header. The "company_tabs" are left unchanged.

I don't recommend bulk uploading products (which you could conceivably do via our API) since our user interface isn't designed for massive catalogs of products under a single company. That is why I'm recommending another approach.

If, by Q&A page you mean have a page that is specific to a product so that all the topics about it are in one place, and the ability to solicit questions/feedback about that product, then I would suggest using tag-filtered widgets. You would embed a widget on each of your product pages, and when someone posts a topic from this page it is auto-tagged with the appropriate product name. You don't need to bulk upload the products as a first step because the product is only referenced in GS when there are topics about it. That is, if you use this recommended widget approach.

I have a Fogbugz bookmarklet that worked well last I checked. It takes the information on topic the page and submits it as a new case/ticket on Fogbugz. Simple as that.

I'll post details when I'm back in front of my main computer tomorrow.

We use something similar with Trac and Zendesk and the content flow from user submission through an escalation to an internal ticket works really well.

I'll try to help you debug, though I'm on vacation and limited to my iPhone.

First, can you explain where the script method is being called in your login flow/template? If it's on the success page, you should be able to view source and see the generated JavaScript.

What language is your app using?

Fianlly can you paste the exact calls you're making for the script method? Chances are this is where the problem is.

On a related note, we are working on some changes to the system that will allow companies to turn off their communities with the push of a button. We're in the planning stages of this.

In the meantime, I can "mothball" communities by request. It is a manual process and preserves the users' content for their own reference, so it needs to be scheduled. Thanks for understanding.

We did deploy an update to the spreadsheet that includes two of the three fields you requested (Topic ID, Creation Date). The user email was pulled from the release because it needed some further debugging. It will be in the next deploy scheduled for this weekend.

Yes, using our pro widgets you can auto-tag topics. You can filter the display of topics on this basis as well.

We also have a private tagging feature in private testing now that could useful.

IN re-reading the above, perhaps there's some confusion about where the overlay comes in. Have you seen the fastpass introduction and how to screencasts? We just posted them, and they should make sure we're on the same page.

If you're using the script method then the real question is whether the javascript is getting added and the cookie written.

We have a feature called "user defined codes" (available to premium accounts upon request) that I think would be a good fit for this. It allows you to automatically assign a code (e.g. SKU) to any topic and then filter the topics based on that code.
